IDI launches Turkey in Horizon 2020

Turkey in Horizon 2020

IDI successfully organised the Public Launch Event of €2.75m ‘Turkey in Horizon 2020’ Project on 28th January 2016 in Ankara which was attended by over 200 participants from various regions of Turkey.

The following distinguished guests delivered their speeches to the audience: Mr Hakan Karatas, National Coordinator for the EU Framework Programmes in Turkey, Ms Virve Vimpari, Deputy Head of Section, Financial Co-Operation Projects, European Union Delegation to Turkey and Ms Emine Doger, Acting Director of the CFCU.

Dr Aleksander Bakowski, IDI’s Team Leader, delivered a presentation on the ‘Turkey in Horizon 2020’ Project, which main aim is to strengthen the capacity of Turkey in Science, Technology and Innovation and facilitate the integration of the Turkish Research Area to the European Research Area.

IDI will work closely with the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK – Beneficiary) and the Central Finance and Contracts Unit (CFCU - Contracting Authority) to deliver the high quality capacity building and networking events to the Turkish researchers and SMEs in order to increase their participation in the Horizon 2020 Programme.
