More than 450 researchers and SME managers gathered in Istanbul on the 5th of July 2019, to explore opportunities to collaborate and to discuss project ideas for Horizon 2020 projects. The very successful ICTurkey 2019 International Brokerage Event was organised by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) with the support of the EU-funded project “Turkey in Horizon 2020 Phase II”.
The event targeted calls from the ICT and Cross-cutting themes of Horizon 2020. This included 5G, Next Generation Internet, Big Data and Applications, Digitising European Industry and Smart Health and Care.
The event attracted important players in Horizon 2020 from across Europe. Some of those in attendance included Airbus Cybersecurity (France), Ericsson (Italy), Volvo Group Trucks Technology (Sweden), Fundación CIRCE, Civitta (Lithuania), TWI (UK), Fraunhofer (Germany), F6S (UK), CERTH/ITI (Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas - Information Technologies Institute) (Greece), Research Council of Norway (Norway), Mozilla (Germany), Tecnalia Research and Innovation (Spain), and many more.
Participants had the chance to present their ideas and proposals during 5 workshops covering the themes mentioned above. Following the parallel workshops, face to face meetings took place, with the session facilitating more than 950 bilateral meetings between participants.
The event concluded with wonderful cocktails on the terrace of the Hilton Conrad overlooking the Bosphorus.
