IDI were contracted to assist the Government to devise a new Regional Development Strategy to tackle a serious structural unemployment problem. IDI undertook a programme of regional economic regeneration that involved the transformation of a one company town into a Special Economic Zone.

IDI provided long-term Technical Assistance following the study to establish the new Special Economic Zone.
