IDI was engaged to support national authorities to provide publicly available up to date, reliable and relevant market information, statistical data, and other information related to agriculture and rural life. The objective was to improve agricultural activity of farms, rural business effectiveness, competitiveness, job creation and inclusive growth of rural areas.

  • An electronic information system (Rural Business Information System) was developed with automatic data transfer solutions, interactive data display, and mobile applications.
  • Capabilities within the Ministry in data management, analysis, and econometric methods and modelling were enhanced.
  • A communications plan was prepared.
  • The existing agricultural information systems were further developed integrating best practices from across the EU.
  • A plan for an early estimation system for crop production was developed and piloted.
  • An interactive map of local business opportunities was created.
